چکیده

Microtubules are key components of the cytoskeleton of eukaryotic cells and play important roles in many aspects of biological functions. Development of microtubule inhibitors, which interfere with microtubule assembly and disassembly specific in the M phase, is useful for the investigation of the biological function of microtubules and microtubule-associated proteins (MAPs) as well as for cancer therapy. Tryprostatin A (TPS-A, Fig. 1) was isolated as a microtubule inhibitor, but its inhibition mechanism was different from that of other conventional tubulin binders. In this review, we describe the possible role of TPSs as a biochemical tool and an anticancer drug. T. Usui

In vitro and in silico studies of the inhibitory effects of some novel kojic acid derivatives on tyrosinase enzyme

Objective(s): Tyrosinase is a key enzyme in pigment synthesis. Overproduction of melanin in parts of the skin results in hyperpigmentation diseases. This enzyme is also responsible for the enzymatic browning in fruits and vegetables. Thus, its inhibitors are of great importance in the medical, cosmetic and agricultural fields. Materials and Methods: A series of twelve kojic acid derivatives wer...

Quantum chemical studies on adsorption of imidazole derivatives as corrosion inhibitors for mild steel in 3.5 NaCl solution

Adsorption of benzimidazole, 2-methylbenzimidazole and 2-aminobenzimidazole on mild steel in 3.5 NaCl solution was studied using density function theory DFT calculations. In this regard, charge transfer resistance Rct and double layer capacitance Cdl obtained by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy EIS were used to calculate surface coverage and to build prediction models. When prediction mod...
